The Honourable Islamabad High Court has treated W.P. No. 3879/2019 (Tezgam Inferno Incident Case) filed by the Petitioner NGO as Public Interest Litigation (PIL), which led to: ▪ Compensation to the downtrodden victims / legal heirs of deceased and injured; and ▪ A binding commitment by the State to install automatic fire-fighting systems in express trains (2000 units undertaking on record).
The Petitioner is globally recognized for its landmark public interest litigation before the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, titled: “The Jurists Foundation v. Government of Pakistan & others”, PLD 2020 SC 1, wherein the legality of the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) tenure / extension was challenged.
This Honourable Court partially allowed W.P. No. 3277/2020 by declaring the allotment of 602 residential plots under the Prime Minister’s Package to high-ranking officials as illegal. ▪ The Federal Cabinet has now enforced the judgment by prohibiting any further allotment beyond entitlement. ▪ Litigation regarding withdrawal/recovery of previously availed allotments remains pending.
The Petitioner filed W.P. No. 3197/2021 challenging forced Covid-19 vaccination, raising significant constitutional issues, which are now sub judice before the Honourable Supreme Court.
The Petitioner approached Honourable Islamabad High Court through W.P. No. 4243/2021, questioning the grant of 100% marks to more than 700 students in the Intermediate Examination 2021.
Important legal controversies concerning the Broad Sheet matter have been agitated by the Petitioner which is now pending as ICA No. 41/2022, which continues to remain pending after being categorized as “No Scope” from 13-04-2022.
The Honourable Supreme Court allowed Constitution Petition No. 23/2023 filed by the Petitioner, challenging the vires of the Review of Judgments and Orders Act, 2023.
The Petitioner has also: ▪ Challenged the legal status of PSL cricket teams, and ▪ Raised grievance against the blocking of Constitution Avenue, through W.P. No. 766/2024 and case is pending adjudication.
W.P No.5128/2025 has been filed against the CDA discriminatory policy of allotment of plots / Land sharing instead of settled practice of open auction.
